Sharing Projects in Entourage 2004

I am trying to share some projects between 2 people and have been
experimenting with using the iDisk public folder as a place to place the
shared project files. It seems as if it take some time for shared items to
show up in the other person's folder. Is this an iDisk issue or is it the
way Entourage sharing works?

Also, I noted that if you change task information on a previously shared
task, the new information doesn't show up in the other person's project. I
have to duplicate the changed task and delete the original to get it to show
up in the other folder.

Is anyone just using a networked Mac as a server vs iDisk? Is there any
advantages?

Just curious if others out there are playing with Project Center Sharing and
seeing what your experiences are.

Thanks.

I've not used a shared project with an iDisk, but using a standard file
server on a LAN, I've found it takes only a few minutes for changes in one
person's Entourage to show up in another. Something's definitely not right
if changes you make to shared items aren't ever propagating. Can you open
the .rge package on the iDisk and open the tasks folder and sort by
modification date. Then change one of your recurring tasks and see if after
a couple of minutes one of the files in the tasks folder is updated. That
will tell you if your change is even getting pushed to the server.

Are you using the 'desktop iDisk Syncing' feature of OS X 10.3? This can
take a few minutes to sync the user's local copy with the data on the iDisk.

Yes, I am using the desktop iSync feature. That is the reason for the
delay. Thanks. Maybe I should just using a folder location on our internal
LAN vs iDisk. Thanks for the thoughts.
