This is probably a combination for other similar issues I have seen, but here
is my version of the issue:
We have a shared OL task which was created in an earlier release of OL. It
has some user-defined fields and used to be sent to other users w/
appropriate permissions to copy into their OL. This worked fine, but now
that we are testing an upgrade to Vista and OL 2007, we are finding issues.
First issue was that OL blocked XNK extensions, but even when we unblocked
the file type OL did not recognize the file type. My next attempt was to
create a new task folder and when I imported the CSV file, it would not map
the user-defined fields. After reading Sue Mosher's response I learned that
mapping user-defined fields was not supported by OL and could be accomplished
by VBA code. i tried to find code but could not, but then again I am no
programmer. Lastly, I decided that I could just type in the user-defined
fields, however one of hte frequently used fields was categories- in which
the user should be able to type something in. Well in my OL, it ties in to
the categories for my calendar. How can this be set up so that users can
type in what they want without affecting their calendar categories? IF there
is simple code for the user-defined fields, i would be willing to try that as
well.
Thanks in advance,
