Sharing the Outlook calender via a router

We have three Windows XP systems on a router. Each one has
Office XP and we use Outlook for email. We want to be able
to view each other's calender of appointments. How can we
set up a share for that? Also can we send a pop-up message
to tell one of the agents in the back office that someone
at the front desk is here for him? Thanks. JM

As for the second part of your question, you can use the "net send"
command from a command prompt window - this will pop a windows
messenger box on the user's screen that they read and then click "ok"
to make it go away.

For example, if you wanted to send a message to Bob in the back office
to let him know someone is up front to see him - you would open up your
command prompt window (Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories >
Command Prompt) and assuming Bob's computer was named BobsComputer type
in: net send BobsComputer Bob - your 10 AM client is here to meet with
you. <then press enter> and Bob would get a messenger window popped up
on his screen. The only downside is that Bob can't acknowledge or
respond to you unless he then used net send to send you a message.

In the long run - you might want to consider a corporate IM program
(some companies don't like MSN or AOL messengers being used on their
computers for security reasons)
