Sheets don't always calculate automatically

Hi all

When I enter data Excel doesn't always calculate automatically - If I hit F9
when prompted at the bottom of the screen the worksheet updates OK.

There doesn't seem to be a specific pattern - it's not always the same cells
that do it.

I have calculate automatically checked on the options tab.

ALthough this may not be the answer to your problem. the calculation
behavior is based on the setting for the first wb opened. If it is set to
manual calculation, subsequently-opened books will adopt that behavior. The
same applies if the 1st wb is set to Autocalculation.
