Sheets in Word (like available in Excel)

In Excel on each document you can have smaller documents on different
"sheets" within the same document.

I'm using Windows 98 and this function isn't available in Word.

Is it available in Word in any of the Microsoft Windows upgrades? ie.
2000 or XP.

I hope you know what I'm referring to .......

Is there another word processing programme that has this capability?

and if this group isn't the right place to post this question......
can anybody tell me of a better place to post it?

Thanks!

Check the help file under Chapter and-or Section. Not exactly the
same, but it may be what you are looking for.

no- i was hoping for something with easy tabs (or the like) to make
navigating through a document easier.

sections split a document but it's not organisationally easy like
tabs, if you know what i mean.........

thanks anyway

Yes, I know what you mean. However if you get into them there are ways
of jumping around as needed. I have used a number of tricks depending on
the situation. Hyperlinks work of a lot of what I need and sections or
chapters have also worked, but frankly it took me a long time to get even a
small working knowledge of sections and chapters. I still don't really know
them.

Tabs are easier in many ways, at least easier to understand if nothing
else.

I just have a few minutes so I got my Bible out found that it appears
master documents is what you want. After a little setup and learning curve,
you have display a pane with a list of the sub documents and just click on
the one you want to display it. There are a lot of options. I have not
used it directly but it appears to be a better organized system than the one
I have used with hyperlinks. This is with Office XP. I don't think earlier
versions had all the same features.

thanks joseph- i've found that Windows 98 does it too...... I didn't
know it had this ability.

but as you can imagine it's not what i was hoping for...... :-(

tabbed formatting would have been sooooooo good.
