Shift Bypass Key Not Working

R

Rick Seltzer

I have a system which works in 4 different cities where the user can use the
Shift Bypass Key in an Access database.
In one city they just added 2 new computers with MS Office Small Business
Suite 2000.
The new machines also have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.
The other PCs use Windows 98, etc.
For some reason the Shift Bypass Key will not work on these new PCs.
This problem does not occur on any other PC with Windows XP in the other
cities.
I am at a loss.
Any advice would be deeply appreciated.

Is Access included in the MS Office Small Business Suite 2000? I don't believe
it is. They may have a runtime version on their computers from some other
installation. That would allow an Access database to run, but would preclude
any access to the development screens, etc.

JUST A GUESS

I think Office2000 SBE does have some "business" components which, if
installed, install and use runtime Access. Even though MS-Access itself is not
part of SBE.

You are correct, Chris. A runtime version of ACCESS is part of Office 2000
Small Business Edition.
