Shifting the Changed-Line Bar (MS Word 2007)

I'm Tracking Changes in a .doc document. (Same problem occurs in .dcox
versions.)
I want to use the changed-line bar (also called change line or revision bar)
on the left of the page. It seems to display in a fixed location, based on
the light-blue margin adjuster thingy (sorry) at the top of the page.
But I've set my template to extend the text to the left beyond this set
margin, so the changed-line bar appears inside my text, rather than to the
left of it.
Moving the light-blue margin adjuster thingy to the left also moves all the
text with it, with the same result.
Changing my template (and all the existing docs and zillions of tables based
on it) would take eons.
Is there a way to move the changed-line bar to the left, without moving
anything else in or on the page?
Thanks!

I'm afraid you made a fundamental mistake when you set up your template, by
setting the left paragraph indent further left instead of changing the page
margin. The change bar location is fixed with respect to the page margin --
there is no control to change that.

The "blue margin adjuster thingy" has nothing at all to do with the page
margins; it changes only the paragraph indents.

You'll have to change the documents or be stuck with change bars that go through
the text. (Changing the template will affect only new documents you base on it
after the change, not any existing documents.)

Hi BPB,

To add to Jay's reply, you do have the option of moving the change bar to the right margin if that would help

Review Tab=>Track Changes=>Change Tracking Options=>Changed Lines
