shockwave crashes PP. help!

I run XO and PP 2002, and I am embedding a shockwave file.
It displays upside down and when I play the slideshow, it
crashes. I've installed all the latest hotfixes and
service packs, etc. Is this an XP issue? Or a setting in
PowerPoint? Please help! Thanks !
