shopping cart

Hi
I have 1000 items in my db that are presented to my
customers thru asp catalogue pages. Any item selected is
shown in another asp page (using query). No html pages
are used.
How can I creat & integrate a shopping cart using the
data from my database.
Do I have to make individual [add to cart] buttons for
each item, or can I derive buttons from my db (like asp
pages.
Please let me know where to get more info on this subject.
