There is some mis-information here.
1. The PayPal FrontPage Addin is not a "true" shopping cart. It is missing a great deal of functionality that is present in a true
shopping cart.
2. Most third party e-commerce packages allow you to use shared SSL provided by your existing ISP / WPP. There is no need to
purchase a SSL certificate.
3. There are numerous payment methods that do not require a merchant account PayPal Website Payments Pro, 2Checkout.com, Google
Checkout, are just three such payment options. There are many more.
4. Most carts today either do not store the card or use very strong encryption to do so. There is a misconception that banks do not
allow for websites to store this information. MasterCard / Visa have rules that apply to very large institutions about card security
when it is stored in their databases.
