Shortcut Bar disappears intermittently

I have been using Office 97 for number of years. Recently,
in the middle of a session, Shortcut Bar started
disappearing. Since it is included into a Start file,I
have been attempting to go there and open Shortcut Bar.
Doesn't work. I have had to restart.
Tried to reinstall the Office 97 program. It works for an
hour and disappears again. Please advise.

Thank you for your reply. I however specifically mentioned
in my question that shortcut (i.e. MSoffice.exe) is in the
Start. And still, I cannot start the shortcut bar, and
have to reboot.
