Shortcut for paste special unformatted text?

D

Don Todd

For Office 2000 and XP.

I've searched google web and groups for this and haven't found a
solution. I would like the paste button (and Control-v) to default to
paste special as unformatted text.

TIA,

Hi Don,

I would advise creating alternate commands for Paste Unformatted Text
rather than reassign the defaults. For example if you copy/paste an
image and try to use the unformatted text option Word may crash.

The easiest way to do this is to record a macro that uses Edit/Paste
Special/Unformatted Text and assign a keyboard short cut such as Ctrl
+ Shift + V and assign the macro to your toolbar. Both of these steps
can be accomplished in the Tools/Macro/Record New Macro dialog box.

You can even copy/paste the Paste icon from the default Paste command
and modify slightly for your Paste Unformatted macro. If you need more
help on this post back and we'll go from there.
