Shortcut keys not working on Reports

I am using Access 2007.
On my forms and reports I use 'Caption' to specify a shortcut, e.g.,
Opt&ions. The Alt-letter combinations work on the forms, but not on the
reports. Your help is appreciated.

The text box and label controls on a report do not have events like On Click.
Therefore clicking on a text field or doing an Alt + the underscore letter
does nothing on a report.

But the buttons do work. They have events, including On Click. Additionally,
my reports have text boxes, and I set up On Click events for some of those as
well.

But earlier you said they didn't work.

Are you writing your report in Access or are you using Visual Basic to 'get at'
the data in an Access Database and then writing the report in Visual Basic?
(Not VBA). If so, then the 'report' is being displayed in a Form. And that
Form can have functioning buttons. However, I'm not sure that simply
underlining a letter in the button key caption makes it a hot key.

The only thing that does not work is the shortcut key technique
(Alt-letter). Selecting the button with a mouse click is fine. It triggers
the Click event, and my VBA code gets control.

I used Create Report from the Office Ribbon to create the report. What I
have is an Access Report object. Then, using the Design tab, I added buttons
to the Report Header. They function exactly like buttons on a Form, with the
exception that the shortcut key technique does not work. (I defined the
shortcut letter using an '&' in the caption property.)

It seems to me to be an Access problem, as opposed to something wrong that I
am doing or failing to do.
