Shortcut to change window fails

In Mac Office 2004, I can cycle through open windows with COMMAND+`
(the unshifted ~ tilde key). This works in Entourage and Word, but
recently it's stopped working after a while in Word, but resumes
working after I quit and restart Word.

Any ideas why it quits working?

Office Help says COMMAND+F6 switches windows, but I've gotten used to
COMMAND+tilde. I don't know where I learned that, but I can do it with
one hand and prefer switching that way.

Thanks.

Hmm, a mystery. Go into Tools | Customize, Keyboard, select Window in the
left column, find Next Window (or Prev Window) in the right column, and make
sure cmd-tilde is listed as an option. If not, assign it.

I believe cmd-tilde is the system shortcut, or the one laid out by Mac
guidelines, that is supposed to consistently work across all apps. It works
here, too, although I don't have it assigned in Word either. Specifically
telling Word to use it may prevent Word from forgetting about it when it
gets tired.

Note also that the Tools | Customize dialogs are very valuable and although
a freakin nightmare to use, will often repay time spent exploring them, if
you've not been there before.

The next window command was assigned to both option F6 and cmd F6, and
I added the cmd-tilde at your suggestion. Good idea! Thanks.

Glad to help. Let us know if Word does continue to forget about that
shortcut (though it shouldn't).
