Shortcut!

Graham

All,

I have created a shortcut to an excel 97 spreadsheet
which I have placed on the taskbar in XP.

When I open the document using the shortcut I get a
dialog box saying "a document with that name is already
open"

Can anyone tell me how to stop this?

Hope to get an answer soon...

Graham

Hi Frank,
Replies are posted in the newsgroup, normally an email copy is not
also included, but even if it were the replies are in the newsgroup.

By posting a "me too" answer you may delaying getting an answer
in the thread because it may look like the question has already has been
answered. Occasionally someone looking for an answer can add
additional information to help get an answer like where else the same
problem occurs. Fortunately for the Graham, Dave Peterson
already answered the question in this thread. (takes 12 hrs to get to Groups)

Along the same lines is someone jumping on a thread with a
different but somewhat related question before the original
question has been answered.

In reality the answer to the question could easily be found in the
archives of Excel newsgroup postings on Google Groups.
by putting the entire error message or most of it intact within
double quotes on the search all entry area of the form at
http://google.com/advanced_group_search?q=group:*Excel*&num=100

When quoting text please include the name&email line of the poster
rather than the line which indicates > -----Original Message-----
also if your newsgroup browser does not include the Re: subject
prefix, it would help if you stuck one into the subject.
