shortcuts link to MS Japan

Recently, any shortcut to a Microsoft site from within any
office application opens to MS website in Japanese instead
of the U.S. I have tried 'detect & repair' and there are
no virus problems on my computer. My OS is WinXP-home
edition and I run Office XP Pro.
Can anyone tell me why this has started and how to fix it?

Try deleting the MS cookies for the websites.
