Shortcuts to Public Folders in Outlook

Hi all,

We have a user who creates a shortcut in Outlook to a public folder. When
he enters an appointment into the caldendar from the shortcut, the
appointment is not repliacted to the actual public folder. Also, when he
enters an appointment in the public folder, it is not repliacted to his
shortcut. Any ideas?

Outlook version is: Microsoft Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.7308)
Windows version is: Windows 2000 SP4.

Thanks in Advance

What do you mean by "shortcut" ? In the Outlook Shortcut Bar? What did he
drag there?

Yes, it is a shortcut that the user placed in the Outlook Shortcut Bar. They
are shortcuts to Public Folders that are hosted on our Exchange 2000 server.

Repro'd this yourself? Where was the shortcut dragged from - favorites?
Offline files in use?

I have not been able to reproduce this myself. Only 4 out of our 1500 users
have reported this problem to us.

I believe the users are clicking on the folder and dragging it to their
shortcut bar.

Well, a shortcut is a shortcut is a shortcut. It points at the thing
it....points at. Doesn't exist in its own right! Perhaps you should go visit
their desk (or do a remote access session if you have that option) to see
what they did and what is actually happening.
