when opening a new file, do you know how to add locations
to the left hand border (History, My Documents, Desktop,
Favorites, and My Network Places are displayed). I would
like to add specific drives to save a little time. Can it
be done?

If the drives exist, Lawrence, they should already be there. If they are yet
to be created, they will appear in the left window of My Computer or Windows
Explorer automatically as soon as they are intsalled.

Good luck,

Ed

Lawrence:

On Win 2K and Win Xp, when you open a file open dialog, navigate to the
folder you want to add to the shortcut listing, then from the "Tools" menu
in the dialog, select either "Add to Favorites" (Win 2k) or "Add To My
Places" (Win Xp)

Hi Lawrence,

You didn't mention the version of Office you're using
and the modification of the Places Bar in Office 2000
is different than the process for Office XP and 2003.
See if the information here helps:
