How would I assign a keyboard shortcut to activate the pen/ink tool?

How would I assign a keyboard shortcut to activate the select/text tool?

How would I assign a shortcut to draw a text box? (seems I can't draw a
textbox?)

I have tried to customize the tool bar item and modify the selection by
moving the ampersand to the end of the toolbar name and inserting a character
to act as the action key when the modifier key in pressed in conjunction with
this character.

Do you really have to post the question two different ways under one user
name and the same way twice but under two different user names?
