maybe that would have been clearer

I think I had set it as an appointment and I deleted the reminder and cant
find the original in deleted items

You don't really delete reminders. We usually dismiss them.
If you dismissed the reminder, it will no longer pop-up.

You need to search your Calendar for the original appointment.
Do you remember the Subject of the appointment? If so, I
would suggest that you search your calendar.
