Should I let Offc Updt install the Outlook2k3 Updts (No Outlook)

Redleg

I have Office 2k3 on system. I've run Office Update and it wants to install
2 required Outlook 2k3 updates. This would be fine except that I did not
install Outlook. (I have not installed it for home use.) Must I install
these 2 updates? What will they do if Outlook not installed? What is the
downside if I keep passing on the install?

I have Office 2003 (pro version) and it came with Outlook ( But I use
Outlook express for my email, and not Outlook) If office update indicates you
need them , then it is detecting Outlook on your machine, even though you
have never configured/set-up Outlook.
They will keep showing up as needed, every time you run office update,
unless you hide them. But making them "go away" doesn't serve you well in
the long run--I never second-guess Microsoft on updates, they often contain
security and functionality improvements that impact not only the target
program, but the entire OS as well.
Those are my 2 cents worth, hopefully someone more qualified will respond
with the techie facts!!! GOOD LUCK!
