I am not sure which version of Office to purchase: Office 2003 Professional
or Office XP Professional. What are some of the differences in the 2?

Office XP is Office 2002
So Office 2003 is more recent - has a few improvements.

Office 2003 Professional has some features that Office XP lacks. You may or
may not need the added features.

Office 2003 requires Windows XP or Windows 2000 {SP3+}. Office XP does not.

If you have a compatible version of Windows, choose Office 2003. If not,
choose Office XP.

Others have pointed out the differences but there should also be a
fairly large difference in price since Office XP is no longer the
current version.
