Should I use default.htm or index.htm as the name on the home page

Hello!

I help my doughter to create a web application using FrontPage.
I use IIS on my computer for testing and I wonder if I should call my
initial home page for
default.htm or index.htm.

My second question is when I publish my web application on the ISP web
server what name should
I call my initial home page. Should I call it default.htm or index.htm?

Your local disc uses Default.htm for the home page, but will also accept
index.htm.

Check with your host what page name and extension they require for the home
page - if it's Default.htm or index.htm then use that. If it is anything
else then that name/extension must be added to the list of acceptable names
in IIS on your PC - post back if you need help with this. Use whatever
name your host requires in your web.
