Show Critical path on Tracking Gantt

J

Jim Aksel

I know I've does this before, can someone please refresh my memory?

I have a project with a baseline. In the normal Gantt view, I format for
showing the critical path. No problem.

I want to be able to display the critical path (red tasks) on the Tracking
Gantt view. When I apply the Gantt Chart Wizard to the Tracking Gantt view
the baseline bars disappear. I wish to show both baseline and critical path.

Figured it out -- sorry.

Format/Bar Styles....
Create a new row, call it "critical"
Apprearance, select the small horizontal bar, specify "red"
in the Show For.. type "Normal, Critical"
Click OK.

For those reading this, hope it helps. This solution was inspired by Jan's
answer to another question on a differnt topic. So, thanks Jan.

Hi Jim,

Better find back the original Tracking Gantt (it should still exist in your
Global.mpt and can be copied back into the file thriugh tools, Organizer)
because the standard tracking gantt HAS the critical path standard!

Apply the Tracking Gantt view and then click the Gantt Chart Wizard button.
Click the Next button to take you to the page that requests the type of
Gantt Chart you wish to see. Select the "Custom Gantt Chart" option at the
bottom of the dialog. The Wizard will walk you through the steps to set up
the display of the Critical Path, along with an option to display the
Baseline schedule as well. Hope this helps.
