Show current date on my home page

How do I show the date on my home page in a specific place and have it change
automatically each day?

Give google a try with date and time java script

I have pulled down some Java Script from websites, but not sure where to put
it in my Publisher document; do I go to the "view source" on my index page?
but then where do I put it if I want it in a certain place?

Copy the java script with your mouse.
Select Insert, Html code fragment

A window will open; now replace the text in the window with the new java
script.

The mouse cursor will change to a cross hairs; go to your webpage and paste
the fragment where you want it to appear. Once it is on the page you can
move it around with the mouse to wherever you wish. You may need to resize
the java rectangle. Do a Website preview to see what it is going to look
like.
