Show Desktop & other icons

My show desktop now shows in my task bar the icon with ni link to what it is
and so do my saved favorites as well. how do I reinstall or repair this
problem.

I am not exactly sure what your question is. But if you are asking how to
remove and reinstall “show desktop†from the quick launch area (task bar),
right click it and select Delete and click yes to confirm. You will not
delete the program, you only remove it form the task bar. To add it to the
quick launch area, (from the start menu or the All Programs list or t form
Windows Explorer) just right click it and drag it.

the icon is not appearing correctly. I deleted now can't find it as you said.
Please be more detailed as to how i can restore it. I am not a techie.

If you go to start menu and all programs or if you right click on start menu
and click explorer and expand the the + sings next to the folder or icon, you
will find all the programs and folders on your computer. You just have to do
is right click it, and drag it to the Quick Launch area

DJ I appreciate your trying to help but either I am using a totally different
sysytem or my "Show Desktop" is in a different place. Once I right click
Start Menu and click Expand it doesn't have the Show Desktop icon only what I
currently see in the Start Menu. Where can I get this file from to reinstall
if that is even possible.

R-click the Windows Taskbar and select Toolbars, then Quick launch. If
that doesn't solve the issue, post your question to the appropriate
Windows operating system group. This issue is not part of the Office
suite or it's applications.
