Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Word on the PC has a way to turn on formatting so you can visually "see" every carriage return, space, tab, etc. Can't find it on the Mac version. Does it exist?

Hi,

there should be an icon on the Standard toolbar that looks like an
inverted P ("¶"); click on it, and all the non-printing characters will
appear. Alternatively, you can simply hit Cmd+8.

oh you are a god send! I looked everywhere for it, even used the same language that i can find it in the PC Word help. And there it is, how embarrassing.
Last question, how do I reply to the newsgroup?
Thanks.

Hi Peggy,

glad I could help. And you've already replied to the newsgroup. The
Mactopia interface you are using is a front-end to the newsgroup; it may
look like a forum, but the underlying foundation is actually a
newsgroup. The difference may be difficult to explain, but there is
nothing you need to worry about.
