show measurements on a drawing

I am just starting to learn Microsoft Visio Office 3. I do not know how to
set the scale and see the measurement on the drawing of a building plan.

I don't have Visio on this PC but if I rememebr correctly:
- scale set at menu/"page setup"
-dimensions are not automatic; get stencil for buildings and drag/drop to
your objects
