Show previous records

I'm designing a form that shows a text field and I want to put the user on a new record. I've got the code to go to a new record but if the existing records are more than a page full it shows the new record at the top of the screen. To view the previous records you have to press page up or cursor up. I need the users to be in a position to enter a new reocrd but to see previous records. Is there a way of going to a new record but showing as many previous records as possible?
