Show Project Manager In Column

I'm trying to add a column to the Gantt view of a master project that shows
the name of the project manager for each embedded sub-project. And, obviously
since I'm here, I'm not having any success.

Is this possible without touching each and every project? I was hoping that
when I made a (frequent) project manager change in PWA that the column could
draw from this field.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, there is no way to do what you wish in Microsoft Project. On the
other hand, you could create a custom Project Center view containing the
Author field. You will need to make sure that your PM's click File -
Properties and fill in the Author field with their name whenever they create
a new project.

An alternative would be to create a custom enterprise Project field with a
value list or outline code that would contain the names of all project
managers. You could make this a Required field so that each PM must select
a value before he/she can save the project. You could include this field in
the Project Center view instead of the Author field. A couple ideas. Hope
they help.

Thanks Dale. That's what I was afraid of. They can see this in the Project
Ownership view in PWA, but the client wanted to see this information in the
Gantt chart in Project.

Just a little more effort on my part. Fortunately I'm billing by the hour
instead of the project on this one. ;-)
