Show Tasks Pane similar to folder list - Outlook 2003

Duncs

Hi all.

In my installation of Outlook, I have a button labelled 'Tasks' at the
left of the screen, under my folders list. Is it possible to have the
Tasks as a 'toolbar' at the side of the screen?

No but OL2007 adds a To Do bar akin to what I think you're asking for.

While you're viewing the calendar, you can click View>Taskpad to see the
tasks on the right side of the window.

Brian,

Thanks for your reply. I've tried the View|Taskpad option, and all it
seem sto do is move the calendar from the top-left of the window, to
the righthand side. It still doesn't display details of the tasks.

I guess, from Vince's reply, what I'm looking for is just not possible
in OL2003.

you can't display "details" of the tasks in the taskpad, only a list of
tasks, the fields you wish to include and a 3 line autopreview. In the task
folder you can enable the preview pane to view all the details

Diane,

I can't even see a list of the tasks.

When I switch to my calendar view and click on View|TaskPad, all it
does is moves the calendar view from the top-left of my screen, to the
right-hand side of the screen. It doesn't display any details related
to Tasks.

Any ideas?

Your Taskpad is too small, perhaps. Move your pointer to the bottom of the
Date Navigator (the small monthly calendar) just above the Status bar. See
if it becomes two horizontal parallel lines with vertical arrows. If so,
click and drag it upward. Do you see the Taskpad now?

so there are calendars filling the entire right pane? hover the mouse over
the bottom and pull the bar up - the cursor will look like a double pointed
arrow.
