show template

how can I display the template in use while in word or
excel, while I am working or to just call it up to see.

In Word, choose Tools - Templates and Add-ins. The current template is
displayed under Document template. Also, in Word, File - Properties -
Summary tab. Near the bottom, it shows Template:.

The latter procedure also has a Template: item in Excel. However, I've never
seen it *not* grayed out and blank.
