Show which of two resources is assigned to a task

Hello,

I'm using Project 2002. I have some tasks, which I have assigned to a human
resource of 200%, ie I think I've given the tasks to two people, but do
correct me if I'm wrong. Each task, however, is only done by 100% of the
resource, ie one person. I have then levelled the tasks, and I want to colour
code the tasks to show which of the two people does which task so I can
easily glance at it and see. Anybody know how to do that?

Thanks
Helen

But if it has split the tasks up between the two people because they belong
to the same resource, surely there is a path of tasks for one of those
people, and a path of tasks for the person?

Hi,

You have assigned the task to either the two people or one person.
If you use the resource representing the two people there is no way to tell
them apart.
Hope this helps

Jan,

"If you use the resource representing the two people there is no way to tell
them apart." This is what I have done, and I will just have to print it off
and take a highlighter to it then I suppose!

Thanks for your help

I think what you have done is by applying 200% of the resource, you have
said each activity requires two people. If the activity only requires one
person you should apply 100% to it. If you then need to differenciate between
resources, then create person 1 and person 2 as resources and apply them to
each task. You can then if you wanted to colour up the task by resource name,
and save on your highlighting pens.

No, it doesn't split them up. It assumes you have both people working side
by side on each and all of the tasks. If you need Joe on one task and Mary
on another, that is a human decision made by you, not the software. Instead
of one resource named "Workers" with a maximum of 200%, you need to list Joe
and Mary as two separate individual names each with a maximum of 100% and
then assign them individually to the tasks you wish them to work on. Only
you, not Project, evens knows what skills are required to do the various
tasks and who has them. Allocating people to tasks is always a human
decision, never made by the software.
