showing embedded images on form

When i insert an object into an underlying table or simply
create a link to a photo in my microsoft office
professional xp developer version software i see the image
i embed or link. In my microsoft office professional xp
oem version of access i only see the link (example.jpg)
with icon. I am using the same database with identical
property settings in both instances just different
versions of microsoft office. I have the same experience
when i try to insert an image from a runtime version of
the software.
