Showing Shape ID on page

I have a large file that has numerous shapes with the same visual appearance
that I want to change in the master, and would like to know what each shape
master name is on the drawing. Is there some way to display the shape name
on the drawing?

to determine the shapes master: right click on shape-> format -> special.
look for master ID on the menu.
to locate document master stencils: file -> stencils-> document stencil

if you wish the shapes name to be displayed on the shape
insert-> field-> object info -> master
