Shrink when not visible (not when null)

I have a field on my report that has code that makes it visible based on the
value of another field in the report. This works fine.

In addition to this, I would like that when the field is not visible, the
section it is in will shrink, so I do not have the extra blank lines in my
report.

I have my CanGrow and CanShrink properties set to yes, but since it is only
invisible, not null, it doesn't work.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Diane

You should be able to change the control source to something like:
=IIf([Married]="T",[SpouseName],Null)
Make sure you change the name of the text box and set it to Can Shrink.

A text box will shrink if it is invisible or if its value is
either an empty string or Null.

The section containing the text box will also shrink if all
the controls (if any) in the same horizontal "band" as the
text box text box also shrink.

Make sure that you have set BOTH the text box's and its
section's CanShrink to Yes.
