shrinking database

Hi im new to access. I have a database that i made and
imported lots of tables from other databases i tought i
would use. now i have reached 2 gigs with this data oops.
well i deleted the stuff i dont need after all and the
database is not shrinking what is going on how do i get
the data base size back down? thanks for any help

You need to compact the database . Tools | Database Utilities | Compact from
the menu.
