Shrinking the Size of an Image File

I created a ppt file with several images that are 2-3M, and shrunk them to
30% of their visual size; however, I'd like to remove the bulk. That is turn
a 3M file into something like 1/9th the storage size. Is there a way to do
that other than create a new file and shrink it with an image application?

Is there a way to tell what file I inserted into ppt by looking at the image
in ppt? I can pretty well match them up visually with the actual file, but
it would be good to know the link.

I tried installing the add-in, and couldn't get past step 3, where one uses
Tools->Add-Ins. Add New. The unchecked box for SizeMe there. When I got down
to the ppa dialog to select the sizeme.ppa, I clicked OK. That seemed
insufficient. I clicked the now visible Load button, and it gave me PPT
couldn't load the add-in. The ppa is 710K and in C:\Documents and
Settings\administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\AddIns\SizeMePPT.

I suggest you actually google to learn about image file optimization. Most
paint programs bave this functionality built-in these days and you should do
some learning about what can and should be done before you bring the file(s)
into PPT in the first place.

Perhaps the MS people who wrote the book on PPT should do the same?

Did you check the box labeled Trust all installed addins and templates?

Yes, Trust permits all. Security is Medium. Three sources are trusted. There
are no others. Avery(Thawte Serv), Avery(VeriSign), and Adobe (Veri). Both
Avery have expired. Adobe goes to 11/5/2009.
I have not yet restored security.

Well, something different happened when I went Add-Ins->Add New. When I
selected the ppa, and pressed OK, I was greeted with a dialog that had the
choice (3 actually) of Enable Macros. I selected it, and SizeMe shows a check.

I believe my initial security was set to Medium, so I don't need to change

With medium security, it should ask if you want to run each of the add-ins
whenever PowerPoint starts.

Do you see the "Display SizeMe Tags" under the tools menu in PowerPoint?
