SI units are symbols, not abreviations: km & kWh vs km. & Kwh.

MS Word spelling in Spanish suggests the referred abreviations. This is
corrected in the English language version using the symbols instead.
Besides SI international standardsSpanish language in particular
differentiates between symbols and abreviations. No abreviation is recognized
for units and they must be displayed in full or symbol only. See DRAE apendix

Hi Miguel

This is the same in English too. We us km, kWh, GWh all without the need for
a stop. These all work fine in my English (UK) version of Office. In many
cases a stop makes it confusing.

Strangely, there was a recent post where someone was reporting that Word was
highlighting Dr and Mr as both needing a stop. In my installation, either
Dr. or Dr is accepted and either is correct (to a degree - purists would
argue for Dr.).

Actually, the recent post was reporting Mr and Dr being marked as misspelled
even when they were typed as Mr. and Dr. (that is, the part before the
period was being marked as misspelled). That is what I found really strange;
Mr and Dr *will* be marked as misspelled in US English, but I can't see why
Mr. and Dr. would ever be marked as misspelled.
