back on Jun 12, 2008, John McGhie said in another, now closed, topic said of viewing more than one page on screen:

"No chance at all in Normal view: Normal view is "unpaginated" (which is how Word gets the tremendous boost in speed in Normal view). In ANY OTHER VIEW, in Word 2008, it's View>Zoom>Multiple pages..."

However, that option is NOT enabled in Publishing Layout. Surely, I'm missing something because seeing the left and right pages of a spread is almost essential for publishing design. Please tell me I'm blind!

Yeah - I'm afraid Mr. McGhie may have made too sweeping a statement :) Pub
Layout doesn't provide a view of more than one page at a time. What you can
do is go to View> Zoom & set the Zoom to something less than 100% - it still
won't give you the actual 2-page spread you're looking for, but it will
allow 2 pages side-by-side - it'll just be 1-2, 3-4, etc.

I can't believe this!!

Gavin and Bob, you are quite correct: I had assumed that because I can get
two pages side-by-side in View>Zoom>75%, that they would be on the "correct"
side.

They are not.

So like Gavin, I am struggling to see what use this Feature could possibly
have.

What a waste of development resources!!

Gavin, I apologise for sending you on a wild goose chase. I guess I would
have found this out if I had ever tried to use Word 2008 for business
purposes. But since it doesn't have that kind of power and functionality, I
never do.

Sorry!
