side note icon doesn't appear in task tray

Dennis,

"srd" gave you the correct advice. Occasionally, if it's already
checked but somehow not working you need to uncheck it, exit OneNote,
restart OneNote, check it and *then* it works.

If all that doesn't work the next thing is to check the Startup folder
in All Programs from the Start menu. Typically, though, that isn't
necessary.

Andrew the stopping and restarting OneNote doesn't work for me. What should
be in the Startup menu?

Tools/Options/other, uncheck and check the box for "Place OneNote icon..."
