Side Notes 2007

I placed the One Note icon in the notification area of the taskbar, as
required; but when I restart the computer, the icon disappears. How do I
make it permanent?

Under Tools | Options | Other, the topmost checkbox is "Show the OneNote icon
on the taskbar." make sure this box is checked (and you may need to toggle
it off, restart OneNote, and then toggle it back on).

John--I did exactly that every way I could think of (taskbar unlocked,
locked, etc). Every time I start or restart the computer the icon is gone,
but the check mark setting is as I left it. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Don

Don,

Have you tried this? I'm using Vista but should work similarly in XP. Right
click the Vista Orb in the lower left of the screen (Start in XP). Click
"Properties" and then the tab for the notification area. Then select
"Customize" and insure that the OneNote SideNote icon is not set to "Hide
When Inactive" or "Hide" and . If so., chance it to "Show." It should then
show in the notification area at all times.
