Side notes in Unfiled notes

I recently switched to a new user account on the same machine and
imported my old notebook. In the past, clicking on the systray icon
would create a new side note in the "Side Notes" section of my
notebook. Now, they're all going into a notebook called Unfiled
Notes. How can I revert to the previous behavior so I don't have to
keep switching back and forth between notebooks?

In OneNote 2007 I believe it's the default to store those in unfiled notes.
What version of OneNote are you using?

This works somewhat, it doesn't open my notebook, just the Side Notes
section of it, so I still have to click around to get to my other
sections. I never actually changed computers, just user accounts.
This happened in OneNote 2007 and I had never seen the Unfiled Notes
section before this migration.

The best option seems to be secondary clicking on the systray icon and
setting the OneNote Icon Default to Open OneNote instead of Open New
Sidenote.

Thanks,
Tony

Here is what I do for this. The first notebook I have open is called
"General" and I have a section in there called "Unfiled Notes". I then
configure my unfiled notes to point to that section (in the general
notebook). Then whenever I open a new side note or open OneNote I see all
of my notes in the same place.

Hope this helps...I would try and setup something similiar.
