SIDENOTES OFTEN ARE READ ONLY WHY?

I use sidenote for telephone messages & information. Sometimes i open a
sidenote and it is read only. at the moment I can't figure out how to change
it so that i can write into the sidenotes.
What is causing these to be read only and therefore of no use?

I have tried to remove the read only tag without success. I revert to notepad
and pencil. Then Open a new sidenote and it is OK i can use it . Yet i have
changed nothing. What is going on?

Where do you have your Notebook stored? My Docs? roaming my docs? a share?
etc.

I have it stored in programs/microsoft outlook/office11/onenote
Is this a problem?

No, but my guess is that is where the program is installed, not where your
notes are stored. Do a search for .one files and see where that takes you.

Sorry i've been distracted from this issue but the notebook is stored in
C:\Documents and Settings\david\My Documents\My Notebook
