"+" sign for rolled up tasks missing when printing?

When I print project plans with the subtasks rolled up, I'd like the + sign
to show beside the summary task as it does in project. It is currently not
shown in the print preview or after pdf'ing. Is there a way to change the
settings to make it appear?

Thanks!

gswan16,
This or a very similar question was asked one or two years ago in this
newsgroup (I remember, because I responded to it). The technical answer
is "yes", but the practical answer is "no". There is no option or
setting to have the outline symbol appear on hardcopy or in a project
file saved in an alternate form (e.g. pdf). Thus the practical answer of
"no".

However, a VBA macro could be created that detects whether or not each
summary line is collapsed and add a prefix on the name string to show
"-" or "+" as appropriate. Then the symbol would appear in hardcopy and
when the file is saved to a different form. Thus the technical answer of
"yes".

Hope this helps.
