Signature files

Ok talk to me like I'm 5 years old.
I want to create a sig with a gif in it. I did this in Dreamweaver and saved it to the Signature fold in MS, of course it only reads .txt, so I resaved it as a .txt and that 's what the sign looks like hyper-text.
Tell me what the heck i need to do. lOL

You'll need to edit the .htm file in your Signatures folder. .txt is a plain text file.
