Signature placement in replies in Entourage 2004?

Hello,
How do I get my signature to be added to the end of my reply?
Currently it's placed at the end of the entire message (included
quoted text) - I would like it at the end of my reply BEFORE the
quoted text?
Regards,
Kristin.

Hi Kristin,

you could use an AppleScript to do that. Better yet, an option in
Entourage's preferences will allow you to do roughly the same thing. Go to
Entourage>Preferences, then click on "Reply & Forward". In the Mail
Attribution section, select the third option, "Place reply at top of message
(...)". Your signature will now be placed before the quoted text, but the
quoted text will use traditional e-mail headers (From, Sent, Subject, etc.)
instead of the more elegant "On [date], [name] wrote" attribution line.

thanks for asking this, Kristin (and thanks for the response, Michel).
I was literally about to ask this exact question when I saw this post.
I'd just rebuilt my database two days ago (using Paul's Import/Export
script) and had forgotten to take screen shots of my Prefs. And the
only one I couldn't remember was how to get my signature up there on
top of the quoted text.

This section of Preferences really should be clearer. It also should
have this 'place signature above all quoted text" as an option. I
can't imagine that many readers desiring to scroll down to the bottom
of quoted text to find someone's phone/address, etc.

Thanks again, Kristin and Michel

Hi Pitch,

you should send Microsoft your feedback; in Entourage, click on Help, then
on Send Feedback on Entourage.

Taking a screen shot of preferences is an excellent tip.

I have some screen shots of reply preferences here:

My suggestion is to leave Entourage set to default setting. Use script by
Paul Berkowitz "Reply Insertion Reversed". (Script ID: 301). Now you can
easily toggle between reply on top or below quoted text. Assign a shortcut
to the script for even easier use.

Another option is to use no signature set in the account options and use a
third party application like TypeIt4Me or SpellCatcherX to insert your
signature.
