Signature Placement

Does anyone know what entourage uses as the anchor to determine where to
place a manually added signature. I can write an eMail or write a reply to
an eMail and then add a signature only to find that the signature hasn¹t
happened where the cursor is but randomly in the middle of the text.

So far my only reliable solution has been to insert the signature first and
then start writing my eMail.

BTW I would rather not have a signature added to an eMail as a default.

I use a third party application to insert my sig along with other
frequently used text. See this article that describes using applications
like TypeIt4Me, Typinator TextExpander and SpellCatcherX.

This link shows you what the different selection place the sig.

Thanks Diane,

Except my signature does not behave as suggested by the faq. Sure, the text
goes where the faq suggests, but the signature seems to be placed almost at
random - only sometimes below the text I have just written and only
sometimes where my cursor last was. Hence the enquiry about what entourage
uses to anchor the signature block.

It is quite perplexing and just a little annoying.

I¹m not sure what you are doing, but it should work. You might turn off sigs
and insert manually using one of the insert text applications.
