Signatures Reset On Reboot

When I select the default signature under Tools > Options > Mail Format
everything is OK until I reboot the system at which time the signature in
Outlook rolls back to >none<. I can still re-select the signature, however,
it is an inconvenience to reset this default everytime I reboot the system.
Does anyone know how to cure this annoying problem?
