signatures to emails

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Email Client: pop

is there a way of getting it so that the signature appears at the top of the message when you reply/ forward rather than at the very bottom as I then cut an paste into the correct position ?
with it at the top you can then just type away above it
